Academy Testimonials

Bill Clark, Director
For the man who needs no introduction: Bill has been at this for more than 25 years, but judging from his unmatchable energy and passion for the sport, you would never know it .Bill genuinely loves what he does; what really drives him as a coach is the sincere interest he has in improving your child, not only as a tennis player, but as a valuable asset to society in the long-run. His hybrid style of mixing conventional tennis wisdoms with a jocular, relatable way of instructing has graduated a laundry list of players from junior tennis, to college scholarships,
all the way to the ATP/WTA. Bill is a technical wizard, with an incredible ability to diagnose the problem in any swing. His ingenuity and attention to detail have bred everything from
his annual State Closed t-shirts to the infamous "Bill Clark Forehand",
recognizable throughout South Florida. As well as being a USA Tennis
High Performance Coach, Bill is also an active member of both the
Junior Competitive Council and the Florida Developmental Camps, Bill remains
the only Florida coach in history to be named Junior Competitive Coach of the Year twice,
taking the title in 1994 and again in 2003. Anyway you look at it,
Bill represents everything that is done right and honestly in junior tennis
and his contributions are unheralded.

Keith Axelrod, Head Pro
Keith has been a USPTA certified pro for over 15 years and Bill's right-hand-man for 12 of them. His vast experience and knowledge of the game makes him a versatile coach, with the ability to work with boys, girls and adults, alike.
These anomalous traits are what inspired the USTA to name Keith Head Coach of numerous Zonal Teams, including the 2003 16's team, which took home a gold ball. It's no wonder that Keith has been around for as many years as he has. He is an invaluable asset to our academy and your children's lives.

Steve Weinstein
Steve was known as one of the more intense players in junior tennis
when he was ranked top 5 in the state in the 12's through the 18's,
but his laid back demeanor would scream otherwise. Now, relaxed and
easy-going by nature, Steve possesses the innate ability to make kids
feel comfortable the second they walk out on the court. However, having played four years at Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Fitness, Steve's energy can still shine through in order to get the kids to work hard and keep them involved. Steve started his tennis career with Bill as a junior and will hopefully end it here as one of our most valued coaches.

Victor Albo
Victor is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet on a tennis court.
He is consistently willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to improve your child as a tennis player. Victor has gotten the rare opportunity to experience the game from every point of view, including being a highly-ranked junior player, a USPTA certified coach, and a parent of a top-ranked player in the country. He specializes in establishing a solid foundation of mechanics and footwork for all levels and we are lucky to have such a diverse instructor on staff.

Jordie Dolberg
If you're looking for Jordie, just look for the guy with the big smile
and million-dollar personality. This young, affable former top five junior tennis player is highly qualified and eager to develop your young athletes
into high-performance tennis players. During his four years spent playing tennis for the University of Florida (reaching the semi-finals of the NCAA Tournament twice), Jordie became somewhat of a tactician, specializing in on-court strategies and match-play. He provides a unique and relatable insight to point play and the possible high-stress situations involved with tournaments.

Kevin Hawke:
Kevin has an intoxicating personality that makes him easy to be around,
but his best quality is his devotion to maximizing each individual child's potential. Kevin played four years on the ATP tour, accumulating four ATP points, which has left him with a world of experience in fitness and agility training. He has since started the Kevin Hawke Speed School run right out of Cooper City Tennis, where his main goal is to improve general fitness and endurance for match-play situations.

Vivek:
Vivek is a ball of energy who can't keep a smile off of his face.  Along with being a top 20 ranked junior, he went to the University of Miami on a full scholarship where he played number 2.  His time spent at Miami playing for an elite team has turned him into a master motivator, able to get the most out of your young athletes.  When the kids lose focus with some of the more strenuous portions of practice, Vivek is able to keep then interested with high energy and laughter.  Although he is one of our newer coaches, it'd be hard to tell; he fits in  with the Bill Clark family perfectly and we are fortunate to have him.
