Bill Clark Tennis Academy is an exclusive year-round comprehensive tennis program with an unsurpassed track record. We have developed, not just trained, some of the nation's top players for more than twenty five years.

Our coaching philosophy is to encourage the development and overall self-esteem of each and every player. Our goal is to help each player achieve their personal goals and reach their maximum potential through a highly personalized approach, whether a player's goal is to play professional tennis, get a college scholarship or play in a Junior Grand Slam. We have sent more than 100 players to play college tennis at Division I schools.

Each one of the Academy's staff members has played at the pro or the college level and are certified, enthusiastic and highly trained. They are adept at detection and correction in all aspects of the game. This includes technical, tactical, physical, mental and emotional capacities. They are hands-on with each player and involved in every player's development including goal-setting, scheduling and periodization.

Bill Clark Tennis Academy has been in existence for more than 26 years. The Academy is run by Bill and his wife of 25 years, Debbie. Together they pride themselves on giving a unique combination of hands-on, personal attention to each individual student. Debbie is involved in the day-to-day running of the Academy and addresses any problems or concerns as they arise. This leaves Bill to give his undivided attention to coaching, motivating, scheduling and developing your children into the best tennis players that they can be.

Our philosophy is to meet the needs of any player of any level whether it's professional, college or high school player. We are so proud of all the home-grown talent that has come out of Bill Clark Tennis Academy. We have taken many players from the beginning level all the way to the college and professional levels. As one of our players recently told us, “Bill Clark's is like home, you feel good when you are here.”

To us this is the best of both worlds…you can get great coaching and achieve your goals while at the same time be surrounded by people who care about you not only as a tennis player but as a person.

Testimonials

Bill Clark changed my life. I saw him everyday of my life from the age of 6 to 18 and he inspired me to be the best I could be. Bill did not only shape me up to be a great tennis player but he was like a second father to me. Bill had a way of getting to his players in a special way. His teaching style made tennis fun and exciting to make you want to train and work hard everyday. I do not think I would have made it through the whole tennis process if I did not find Bill. I will always be thankful that I found a coach that always believed in me and taught me how to compete.

I have known Bill for 22 years. He taught me to play tennis and coached me throughout my whole junior career until I went to Florida State University on scholarship. I have seen him produce the best juniors in the state and in the country year after year. If you look at the players he has coached and for how long they stay at the academy, it is very impressive. He makes it fun and improves their game.

I attended Bill Clark's academy from the time I came to Florida at 11 yrs old until I left to play college tennis at Northwestern University on a full scholarship. Before we came here from California, we had checked out a few of the other local academies but I really wasn't interested in a tennis training factory but more of a family style tennis center where I could get serious training in a less rigid setting. At Bill Clark’s academy I was able to maximize my ability without changing the parts of my game that made me a unique player. Bill Clark's program provided me with the confidence and support to become a top junior and top collegiate player and on to a professional career in tennis. On a more personal level, Debbie and Bill provided a home for me where I could not only become the best player I could be but also the best person I could be. They were always there for me and supported me during my wins and losses. Bill taught me that you can train hard and have fun doing it and that’s a major reason that I have and always will have tennis in my life.

"Before I started working with Bill in 2004, my biggest downfall in tennis was my negative attitude and lack of mental toughness. Both Bill and Debbie have helped me eliminate my bad attitude and change it into a positive one. Bill has also taught me the legendary 'Bill Clark Competitiveness' that has allowed me to fight my way through many matches that I never would have been able to win before. Because of Bill, I have improved tremendously, both mentally and physically. More importantly, however, Bill and Debbie have been second parents to me. I've never had anybody treat me more like their own kid than Bill and Debbie have! I can't imagine where I would be without the Bill Clark Tennis Academy's constant support!"

Bill Clark Tennis Academy is more than just tennis. Of course the tennis is the foundation of the academy but even more so Bill (and his wife Debbie) become your second family. I spent most of my days since age 13 until college with Bill out at the courts and traveling to tournaments. At the time tennis was my life. Bill worked with me through the years and I saw my ranking go from the 70's to finishing my second year 18's at #12 in the state and #74 in the nation. Bill got me my tennis scholarship. Looking back though it was more than just tennis. He is one of the most genuine people you will meet in your lifetime who cares about his players as if they were one of his own kids. Bill's sacrifices extend well beyond just his time on the tennis court. I value the relationship I have with Bill (and again his wife Debbie) not only for what he did for my tennis but the influence he has had in my life.

When my son, DANNY RIGGS started playing junior tennis---we looked around for a place
where he could go ---learn correct fundamentals of tennis---have fun---and grow as a person.
it didn't take long to find the Bill Clark Tennis Academy. Danny found a place where he fit
in and became a top junior in South Fla. Bill and Debbie Clark became mentors--coaches
and friends. Danny and his family thank Bill and Debbie for being there for us.

Dear Bill,
Before I begin to write about how amazing you are I just wanted to thank you for being the best second father anyone can ever have. Bill Clark Tennis Academy has become my second home and I would like to thank you and Debbie for being welcoming and loving to myself and others. Bill, you have taught me everything I know about tennis and have taught me a life lesson, always hit crosscourt! (Love you). Leaving to college and leaving you will be just as sad as leaving my parents. Nothing can beat a great coach with a great sense of humor. The last five years of being at Bill’s have been the best years of my life. I am able to leave my house and come to Bills and still feel at home. The best gift of all that you have given me is knowing that I am part of a family! Love you with all my heart, and always will.<3
Lots of love

I would like to preface this by saying as great a coach as Bill Clark is, he is an even better person. I truly cherish the friendship that has grown between my family and his. My testimonial is going to address what I remember and value about what Bill taught me in regards to not only being a better tennis player, but also a man of positive character.
I would like to start this with my overall memory of the wonderful experience I got out of training with Bill Clark. He is an exceptional coach because of his innate ability to work with every person in a different way. Throughout my experiences in life I have truly come to appreciate how much of skill this actually is. He finds a way to make every person feel special and in turn he brings out the best of everyone. I have found that so many people in life teach everything exactly the same for every single person. To me to coach in this later manner would be a detriment to each player. In fact, I ended up coaching Binghamton University Women’s Tennis team after my own eligibility was up and did so in a manner that I learned from training with Bill. Try and work with each player with your heart sincerely engaged in how they do, on and off the court.
Training with Bill Clark helped me raise my game all the time, instead of just being complacent with where I was at. I believe this is one of the reasons I was able to continually get better and eventually play Division I college tennis. He always seemed to have a competitive group of young players, who pushed each other to compete. I am eternally grateful to Bill for making me the competitor I am to this day.
Stephen Spencer,

The Bill Clark Tennis Academy has been one of the most important influences in my life. Training there helped teach me the value of hard work and also helped prepare me for a collegiate tennis career. During my time at the BCTA Bill was the ideal tennis coach. Bill taught me how to think and strategize on the court rather than just hitting the ball over the net. Bill wasn't just a tennis coach to me, however. Bill was and still is someone I look up to this very day. I am 100% positive that the BCTA has made me a better person on the court and more importantly off the court.

When I first joined the Bill Clark Tennis Academy, I thought I was joining one of the best tennis programs South Florida has to offer. The truth is I ended up somewhere that far exceeded my expectations. It was somewhere I could develop both as a tennis player and a person; somewhere where competitiveness and ethics go hand and hand; and somewhere where the friendships I've made are not only still present, but even stronger 20 years later. I had joined a family.
There were many moments where this type of family atmosphere was evident, but none more than when I had been asked, and even more so trusted to babysit Bill and Debbie Clark's two children. This is a testimony to the type of relationships that both Bill and Debbie have with their extended family, their students. It is these students that are now teaching and shaping the lives of the next generation of the Bill Clark Tennis Academy. The Academy's staff is composed primarily of the very successful Alumni, most of which either played for well respected Division 1 Universities, or had the option of doing so.
As aforementioned, Bill Clark's tennis academy is not only somewhere where kids can become elite tennis players, but where their character can and will grow three fold. The relationships I have had, and still have to this day with Bill, Debbie, and other students are second to none; including my 2 best friends. This is the true legacy of the academy and will continue to be no matter how many nationally ranked players the academy turns out. I can’t think of a better atmosphere a parent can trust with their children. The academy is and will continue to be modern enough to change with the game of tennis as it has over the years, and old fashioned enough to last forever.
Doug Goorland (1990-1995)

It was not until our girls came to The Bill Clark Tennis Academy, that they learned how to play competitive tennis at a high level. That is when they started winning. Both of our girls are now top USTA ranked players because of the Bill Clark Tennis Academy. We travel forty five minutes each way because at Bill Clark all the coaches are caring, knowledgeable and serious about the progress of each player. Not only have they been successful competitive tennis players but they know how to teach. The atmosphere is personal, intense and fun. Bill Clark is unlike any other coach. He knows how to coach and he is effective in reaching the kids to make them winners!!! He has mastered the art of coaching! His track record speaks for itself! This is the place !
